What is BTT?

The Global Wind Organisation Basic Technical Training Standard consists of three modules and an additional installation module which can be taken after certification in the mechanical module. The GWO Basic Technical Training is divided into the following four modules:

The aim of this BTT Mechanical Module is to enable the participants to be able to perform basic mechanical tasks under the supervision of an experienced technician.

Mechanical

Overall learning objective of the BTT Mechanical Module:

  • Solve basic mechanical tasks responsibly (supervised by an experienced technician), using safe working procedures and the correct PPE (Ability, basic level)

Electrical

The aim of this BTT Electrical Module is to enable the participants to work safely with electricity under supervision in a wind turbine environment.

After successfully having completed the BTT Electrical Module, the participants can:

  • Take responsibility to solve basic electrical tasks (supervised by an experienced technician) by using safe working procedures and the correct PPE (Ability, basic level)

Hydraulics

The aim of the BTT Hydraulic Module is to enable the participants to carry out basic hydraulic tasks, supervised by an experienced technician.

After successfully having completed the BTT Hydraulic Module, the participants can:

  • Solve basic hydraulic tasks responsibly (supervised by an experienced technician), using safe working procedures and the correct PPE (Ability, basic level)
