Course
The aim of this course is to give the delegates the basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training be able to prevent fires, make appropriate judgements when evaluating a fire, manage evacuation of personnel and ensure all are safely accounted for in the event of an unmanageable fire. If the incident is judged to be safe, the delegates should be able to efficiently extinguish an initial fire by using basic hand held firefighting equipment.

Course syllabus
- The Participants are able to demonstrate knowledge of the development and spread of fire
- The Participants are able to demonstrate knowledge of the development and spread of fire
- The Participants are able to identify any sign of a fire in a wind turbine environment
- The Participants are able to demonstrate knowledge of the contingency plans in a wind turbine environment including smoke detection and emergency escape procedures.
- The Participants are able to demonstrate correct actions on discovering a fire including correct operation and fire extinguishing by means of the fire fighting equipment in a WTG.

Certificate
GWO FAW or FAWR Certificate is valid for 2 years.
GWO have launched their own unique certificate record data base WINDA. This system allows you and employers to check online using your WINDA ID to verify your current training records.

Prerequisites
No requirement for initial course. Refresher courses require an in-date GWO certification in the refreshing module at the time of sitting the course.
No formal medical is required however participants should have a good standard of general fitness.
Participants will be asked to complete a medical self declaration at the start of the registration process.
